“My journey first started with flood 2 years ago when my friend first brought me to a service project in downtown Atlanta. I didn’t understand what was going on, but I didn’t have to. The overwhelming joy of the other students volunteering was inviting and comforting. It was an experience I will never forget; a memory that sparked my love for serving.
Serving became a safe place for me as I could be myself and get to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life while giving back to my community. It helped me take a step back and realize the treasures we are blessed with every day and the ability we are given to love our community. There is no greater feeling than knowing you could bring joy to someone else’s life; because Flood has become the joy of my life.
Being given the opportunity to start a chapter at Norcross has changed my life. The love that can be poured through the halls of the school is unbelievable. Kids have a heart for service at Norcross. Being so diverse, it is such a blessing to start new relationships and build together as a school and a community for many years to come. Flood is all about the growth of students; that they may flourish and achieve their full potential in service.”
