Here are some answers to flood’s frequently asked questions.
Students will be serving with students from other schools unless it is a Chapter Focus Project. flood has had students from over 25 different schools come out and serve over the last 4 years.
We NEVER take students where we don’t feel safe. Leadership always checks out new projects first to ensure the safety of students. Adult Project Hosts are at every project and a representative from the community partner organization is also on site as well.
We partner with amazing organizations who truly serve the community. Our goal with flood is for students to develop relationships with those that they are serving.
All students MUST complete a release form before they can serve (one time- that’s all). Forms can be faxed, mailed, or brought to a student’s first project. Forms can be obtained online or from the flood office.
YES, YES, AND SUPER YES! An adult Project Host is always at each project. These may be parents, teachers, small group leaders, former students who have graduated, or other adults who love to serve with students.
Students must be 18 or older to drive to projects that provide transportation which are typically those downtown. Students are expected to get their own transportation or drive to other projects that are a little more “closer to home.”
Yes. flood is an official 501©3 as registered in the state of Georgia.
Students do not have to pay to serve, but we do ask for donations for projects that incur costs for flood. We do request that families contribute in some way to flood- either financially, through volunteering, praying, or simply encouraging other families to serve. flood does have financial obligations to run the ministry and any donation is GREATLY appreciated.
